WAVE AND SURF PHOTOGRAPHY.
Plage De La Salie-Nord, Arcachon.
The sea can be a cruel mistress; beautiful, powerful, peaceful, deadly and full of energy.
Salie-Nord is in-between Biscarrosse and Arcachon on the east coast of France. It’s stunning, wild and mostly free from people.
It’s away from the slightly busier parts of this coast and a bit of a walk to get to the beach and then another bit of walk to get across the sand to the sea - totally worth it. It’s wild and free.
No restaurants in this part, so take supplies. There are just a couple of surf schools (who get there by driving across the beaches) and then the dedicated locals. Following the locals is how I found it!
These are a few of my wave photography examples with a couple of surfer pics thrown in.
Sunsets.
And just to make it even more magical, the sun sets at 90 degrees to the beach providing some jaw dropping skies and sunsets.
